Here are our trading terms and you agree to them when you purchase from our website, it is worth taking a few moments to read through them because they explain how we will deal with your order. We will keep them as brief as possible.
DELIVERY - The goods are dispatched by carrier and we aim to deliver them within 2-5 working days of receiving your order. You have the option to give a different delivery address to the card address. This means that you can have the parcel sent to e.g. your workplace or to a friend as a gift. As a signature is required to acknowledge delivery, please try and give an address where there will be someone present to sign for the good(s) between 9.00a.m. and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. The signature of the person accepting delivery at the delivery address will be proof that you or the person to whom the order is addressed has received the delivery. If an incorrect address is given, and courier costs are incurred by us, you will be charged the amount in full and the costs will deducted from your refund. Please check your goods when delivered and refuse any damaged goods. Please notify us within 2 working days if there are any shortages or damages. If you are interested in purchasing from outside the UK please email us with your enquiry to mail@redhotplants.co.uk
ORDER ACKNOWLEDGMENT - Your order will be acknowledged by email on the understanding that delivery is subject to availability. When items are out of stock, we will endeavour to prevent orders from being placed for that item. If, in the event of you placing an order and we subsequently find the item you have chosen is unavailable you shall be notified via your e-mail address or by telephone.
PAYMENT - When you proceed to checkout, you will be asked to give your name and address for delivery and your email address for confirmation. You will then be passed to Barclays which is a secure server, where you will be asked to enter details of your debit or credit card. You can pay either by VISA, Master Card, Switch, or Delta. 100% Secure Online Ordering When you reach the point at which sensitive information needs to be passed to us, you will see a padlock at the bottom of your browser window, and may see a popup window telling you that you are entering a secure area. Clicking on the padlock will give you information about the secure area, where your credit card details are processed and encrypted. The certificate can only be signed by trusted organisations and guarantees a high level of security. We also accept BACS payment, please ring or email for our account details. We accept cheques, please make them out to, Red Hot Plants. We will only dispatch the goods on clearance of your cheque.
WHEN WILL YOU BE CHARGED - Your card will be debited when you confirm your order with Secure Trading. If you pay by cheque it will be banked when we receive it.
PRICING POLICY and INVOICE - All products are priced in pounds sterling. VAT is included in the price and will be shown on your invoice. Your email confirmation is also your invoice.
HOW WILL MY PLANT ARRIVE? - Most of our trees and plants are delivered whole. The branches and the foliage may need to be arranged into shape. To do this stand the tree upright and starting from the base gently bend and tease the leaves and branches out. If you require any assistance or are unsure please ring us on 01524 851017 and we will be delighted to help.
PRIVACY - We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. We will NEVER pass your name, email, phone number or address onto any third party.
RETURNS - You have 14 days from receiving your goods to inform us you wish to return your product. In this time please check your product is correct and not damaged. How do I return an item? If you wish to return a product, you may return them at the cost to the customer, for either a refund or for an exchange. To return an item, you can either use your own courier and we will make a full refund on return, or phone us and we can arrange a convenient day for it to be collected. The costs incurred will be deducted from your refund. If you do use your own courier, don’t forget to include your order number, name, address and telephone number including dialing code. We cannot be responsible for any item that fails to reach us, so please register your parcel. Please keep all boxes and packaging as we can't arrange a collection without them. Returned items must be in a new and unused condition with all packaging included. All returns are checked by us before a refund is issued. We cannot accept returned goods that are not in a saleable condition. There may be an extra charge for Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands and Islands and any failed delivery or collection.
DAMAGES - If you suspect that your order has been damaged in transit please describe any damage on the courier’s paperwork when signing for delivery. If you believe that the goods are damaged then we recommend you refuse delivery or at least state ‘damaged’ on the paperwork. If damage in transit is not identified and you subsequently find your goods to be damaged you must contact us within 24 hours from receipt of goods to allow us to process a claim with our couriers. The best way to do this is to e-mail a description of the damage, ideally accompanied with a photo, to mail@redhotplants.co.uk. Alternatively, call us on 01524 851017. Please be aware, it is unlikely we will be able to refund or exchange against a claim for damage in transit made beyond 48 hours from receipt of goods.
DAMAGE LIMITATIONS - We wish you to be very happy with your purchase and will try our hardest to ensure this. Occasionally though a leaf may come off during transport or the travel pot may crack. In most cases, the stray leaf will simply push back on. The purpose of the travel pot is just to contain that small amount of concrete, that weights the plant and holds the stems together. They are not intended for decorative purposes or in fact to be seen at all. Because of the nature of thin plastic containing heavy concrete they can occasionally damage. Please be aware they will still transfer into your own planter and be potted up in the same way (please see our planting guide if you need help). It will not detract in any way from the plant you have bought, as it is the plant or tree you have bought and not the packaging. We will only uphold these as damage requests if there is more substantial damage to the plant or tree.
CANCELLATIONS - If you wish to cancel an order, please call or email us. We will do our very best to stop your order if it has not yet reached despatch. We will not be able to cancel or refund orders already in transit. Any returns must be made within 14 days of you receiving the goods. The item(s) must be returned to us unused and in as new condition. You will be liable for all postage costs incurred as a result of returning an item to us. We cannot issue a refund until we have received the goods.
GENERAL INFORMATION - Artificial plants are also referred to as replica or silk plants. Silk is a little misleading as the foliage is made of a polyester fabric. Some trees have inherently flame-retardant foliage. This may be necessary for use in nightclubs, care homes, shopping centres, etc. . Fabric foliage will fray over time if used outside so we have a range of trees with plastic foliage for outdoor use. See the Artificial Outdoor Plants Section. The stems of our trees are generally real wood. Most of the leaves are mounted on a plastic-covered wire which allows you to bend the foliage into a natural shape. All measurements are from the floor up and meant as a close guidance, heights can alter due to the fact that many of our plants and trees are made from real wood and also how you bend and shape the leaves and branches into position. All trees are of high quality and are very realistic, often, if not always, prompting the question "are they real?". Most trees and plants are cemented into a 4-6in black plastic pot which holds the stems together. Your tree should be planted in a decorative planter to show it to its best advantage. As with all outdoor furniture, common sense should be used with our Artificial Outdoor Plant range and if the weather is bad, the plants should be brought inside to prolong there outdoor use and protect them from being damaged. (a) All measurements are approximate. (b) The reproduction of colours is as accurate as the photographic and production process will allow. (c) All matters concerning and incidental to any offer or agreement for the purchase and sale of goods from our web site shall be construed and governed according to English law and the English courts shall have jurisdiction in all such matters. (d) Materials contained on this World Wide Web site are the copyright of Red Hot Plants©.
